“I went from being a victim to a survivor to a warrior.” – Tika Thornton
Tika Thornton spends her days mentoring girls who’ve been arrested, providing peer counseling to sex trafficking survivors and raising awareness about the modern form of slavery, guiding with her own story. And while the Journey Out crisis response case manager wouldn’t wish the traumas she endured on her worst enemy, she feels they have led to her life’s purpose.
Tika and I met as part of the TEDx Women event in Beverly Hills last year, and I’m so grateful she agreed to share her story and powerful takeaways on Girl Boner® Radio. She speaks from the heart, and her messages are vital.

You’ll learn ways generational trauma contributes to sex trafficking crises, how Tika found healing, Dr. Megan Fleming‘s thoughts for a listener whose girlfriend survived childhood abuse, how we can all get involved in ending sex trafficking and more.

I enjoy porn. Now, I know a lot of it is probably sex trafficking or drug-induced based. I have to set this aside until I know for certain. I won’t go to a site or whatever if I KNOW it’s bad like that. A woman (or man) should not have to be so degredated or depressed or high that they get into a mess like that. It’s a dangerous, deadly thing and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Thanks for brining it to our awareness.
