If you’ve ever searched the internet for lesbian sex tips, you’ve probably encountered Stevie Boebie. The YouTuber who teaches queer folks how to have sex started out like many of us: learning virtually nothing—or at least nothing positive—about sexuality.
Frustrated by this experience, Stevie went searching for queer sex educators to learn from. At the time, she could find any.
“I wasn’t really taught anything, and the things I was taught were not evidence-based and not pleasure-based,” she told me during our Girl Boner Radio chat. “I thought, well, if no one’s going to do it, I guess I’ll f*cking do it.”
And she has been doing it, brilliantly, since, for a ready audience that proves just how important her mission is. In the past year, Stevie’s How to Have Lesbian Sex: Lesbian Sex 101 video alone has gleaned close to two million views. Equally hilarious, inclusive and informative, her channel is one I’d recommend to just about anyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender or genitalia.
We had a blast exploring lesbian sex myths, sex toys that take clitoral stim to a whole new level, feeling your feelings (just trust us) and how to deal with jealousy. The episode also features thoughtful advice from Dr. Megan Fleming for a listener feeling perplexed by her partner’s flirting-with-others behavior. It’s a goodie!
