Eating disorders. Anxiety. Abuse. Darkness. Death. Happy Hour…?
In our word and love-filled worlds, YES!
Tonight my wonderful friend Elle and I will be chatting LIVE about the dark topics featured in our novels and having a blast doing it. Join us as we take readers’ questions, sip martinis and chit chat in celebration of turning life’s sucky lemons into literary lemonade. While our books are dark and extremely somewhat terrifying, we also aim to uplift and inspire. (As many of you know, kick ass heroines have a way of doing that!) Fear not. We promise that only our characters bite.
How to join us:
1. Pop back to this very post at 5PM Pacific Standard Time.
2. Pour yourself a drink! The more decadent, the better.
3. Click the streaming link below, keeping this window open.
4. Post questions or comments below this post. We’ll address as many as we can LIVE! (Feel free to post questions ahead of time as well.)
Easy-peazy, right? Thanks in advance for joining us. We seriously can’t wait to mix and mingle with you all! ♥
For more information on the party, and to RSVP (totally option), visit the event’s Facebook page. For story details and purchasing information about our books, visit:
In Her Shadow, by August McLaughlin
From 5 to 6pm PST TODAY, we’ll be here:
EMPOWER HAPPY HOUR!
The stream requires Adobe flash. If you don’t have it, the link will prompt you to download it freely, safely and quickly.
Let the chit chat begin! Whatever’s on your mind….ask, ask away. If you post in advance, make sure to stop by later for our response, presented LIVE.
I could NOT be more excited about this – let those questions fly. Try to faze us. Can’t happen. I am going to throw one out to Ms. August to kick off the show – what today gave you a #GirlBoner?
Ooh, great one! You *know* I’ll be answering that.
What a wonderful idea, August. I hope to join you and Elle, if I can get all the crazy stuff under control. Is it a two-way monitor? Might not have time to make myself look presentable. I guess I could throw a paper sack over my head and join in.
Great question, Lynn. It’s a one-way stream, so you’ll only see and hear us. (Paper bag, “good hair/face day” or not, you’re beautiful!) Can’t wait to party with you.
What is it about those of us who write “dark stuff”? What is the appeal for the writer? The reader? Quickly, lest I dine upon your liver with a side of fava beans and a nice Chianti!
Loving the interview! It is hot here too….
Thanks so much for listening in, Susie! Apologies for the technical difficulties. Hope you’re having a great weekend.
August,
This comment is a fun, informational thing and nothing to do with this post. Sorry.
Anyway, exciting, I thought – Watching Dexter Season 7 episode 6. In it Debra, Dexter’s sister, is having dinner with an author and he hesitates to share a theory with her about a criminal. Her response: (paraphrase) “A good theory gives me a girl-boner.” I had never heard that term before. If you invented it, it is spreading…
Just wanted to pass that on.
Scott
Sorry I couldn’t make it! I had a library workshop to present that night and then a booksigning. Sounds like a terrific event.
No problem, Kourtney! There’ll be more to come. Hope all of your events are going wonderfully!
