“I enjoy getting to be sexually open and that I can always have this running dialogue about sexuality… To me, it’s very satisfying.” — Siri
Growing up in Minnesota and Texas, Siri, now an award-winning porn star with her own membership site, never imagined she’d one day make a name for herself in the adult industry. When a college girlfriend opened her eyes to queer porn, that all changed. “The more I watched, the more I thought, I want to do that,” she told me during our recent interview. “I think I’d be really good at that. I think I’d enjoy it.” At no point did she find the career option anything but logical and viable.
Since then Siri’s faith, work, talent and sexiness have really paid off. While the days of making millions as a porn star for most performers are over, she makes a good income doing work she loves—much of which has little to do with fucking. The passionate businesswoman spends much of her time sifting through free porn sites for pirated scenes, marketing her brand, interacting with a loyal fan base she lovingly calls her “Legion of Sirians,” and speaking out against slut-shaming and digital piracy. Also impressive? She’s turned her natural H-cup breasts that once triggered insecurity into an empowering, embraced component of her multi-faceted career.
But enough from me! To hear Siri’s take on her career, slut-shaming, feminism and more, check out our interview using this link:

I think a powerful confident woman is a powerful confident woman, no matter what she does for a living or in her life! I know I’ve spent years hiding my sexuality – behind clothes or attitude or whatever, well, I can be a strong confident woman who thinks sex is a healthy (and fun) part of life without worrying about people judging me for it. i say you go Siri! You too August – so glad you are here – I know I’ve said that before, but I do mean it!
August McLaughlin says
Aw. Thanks, Kat! I think we all have “coming out” experiences. While it’s sad that so many women arguably need to come out in their lives as sexually confident women, I’m so grateful for each one who does. Amen to not worrying about others’ judgment!

I must say August, Siri is one lovely lady who puts everything into her work. Digital piracy? I think that it may never be stopped. There are countries that don’t enforce the laws, or perhaps don’t care about artists getting their dues.
Cheers
Laurie.
August McLaughlin says
Some sad truths there, Laurie. I’ve heard some folks say that piracy is free publicity and we should be grateful others are enjoying and hopefully sharing our work. As long as artists are compensated, I’m cool!
laurie27wsmith says
Free publicity while the pirates make the money? The problem is because what they steal is a computer file in effect, they see no harm because it’s not something they can hold in their hand.

I admire Siri as a very self-confident woman who knows what she wants. I am happy for her that she found what she wants to do and is able to live off it. Not many of us are this lucky.
Even though it wouldn’t be for me, I still have utmost respect for her! And I wish her all the best!
I love the article August!
August McLaughlin says
I agree, Raani! Living lives we’re passionate about is so important–and too seldom seen. Thanks for the sweet support!
