Hope and Healing After Sexual Abuse

June 25, 2015

“Some events are so harrowing, they either shape who we become or we move past them. They either break us entirely, or we pick up the pieces and put ourselves back together, altered but not shattered.”  ― Rachel Thompson, Broken Pieces

August interviews Rachel Thompson, an award-winning author, social media consultant and sexual abuse survivor who publicly advocates for abuse victims. She shares why it’s so difficult for most survivors to come forward, the impact early abuse has on her life now, takeaways from her healing process and more.

Then Dr. Megan Fleming explores ways to cultivate healthy intimacy after sexual trauma, taking questions from August and a brave listener. #AskDrMegan

What is so encouraging to hear is the number of resources now available to people who have been sexually abused. Rachel Thompson alone provides so much assistance in such a variety of ways. hat is remarkable. I hope this particular episode finds its way to more sites for it offers hope and help. Once again, well done, August, Rachel Thompson, and Dr. Megan!
